    Muslim students worry about travel ban, Islamophobia

    Members of the Muslim Student Association are worried about the impact of President Donald Trump’s ban on travelers from specific countries in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold parts of the president’s order.

    Chemical engineering junior Saad Ahmed and biochemistry junior Rehan Zefar are both officers in the Muslim Student Association. Ahmed serves as the association’s president while Zefar is its community outreach chairman.

    New law silences pipeline protest

    Protesters of the proposed Diamond Pipeline have found their voices silenced since a law signed by Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin took effect in May.

    The Diamond Pipeline is being built from Cushing to Memphis, Tennessee, by Plains All American Pipeline LP and Valero Energy Corp. The pipeline’s website said construction began in 2016 and will be complete this year.

    Two-plus years after a racist SAE fraternity chant rocked OU, two Sooner football players are doing their part to make sure the lessons their team learned aren’t forgotten as they enter their senior years.

    “The fight is never over with,” said safety Steven Parker, who had just finished his freshman year when the incident occurred in March 2015.

    That’s what Anushka Sukhadia’s swimming coach said about her school’s latest scandal. Three members of the swim team had been caught under the influence on a school trip, and it was buzzing throughout Bartlesville High School.

    Coach Chad Engleheart said he had already handled the matter and that nobody should be talking about it anymore.
