Q: Tell us a little about what you enjoy doing with your time?
A: I love taking pictures, and my favorite types of photography are portraits, sports portraits, and action shots. I also enjoy playing volleyball and tennis. When I get a break from my busy schedule, I like to binge-watch a show or watch a few movies.
Q: What type of stories do you want to tell with your journalism or media work?
A: I would love to eventually become a political journalist and possibly become one of the reporters who gets to interview the president and other politicians at press conferences. I think it’s important for people to know what’s going on in government, even when it’s happening far away, because those decisions can still affect our everyday lives. Current events have always interested me, and I enjoy staying informed about what’s happening in the world. Since I’m also an athlete and love sports, I would love to photograph sporting events as well and help tell stories through my lens.
Q: Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
A: My favorite fictional character is Lara Jean Covey because she sees the cute, romantic side of life and brings a sense of whimsy to everyday moments.
Q: Who is your favorite real person (living or dead) and why?
A: My favorite person is my mom. She has always been my biggest supporter and is always there for me no matter what. She is one of the kindest and most caring people I know, not just to me but to everyone she meets. She works incredibly hard, is so strong and never gives up no matter what.
Q: What is your dream vacation spot?
A: My dream vacation spot is Japan. I’ve always wanted to go because it looks like such a fun and unique place. I think the Mario Kart go-kart tours through the city would be so cool, and I’d love to see all of the advanced technology and experience the culture and food firsthand.
Q: What do you hope to get out of the Lawton Media Academy?
I hope to learn about all of the opportunities available in journalism and different ways you cantell a story. I also hope to improve my ability to produce a story quickly by strengthening my skills in brainstorming, outlining, interviewing, and writing. Most importantly, I want to gain hands-on experience that will help me grow as a storyteller and future journalist.
